Analyze the various cause of stress in today’s urban society

Nowadays, different people have different stress, stress is the biggest problems. Stress can lead to many problems, such as, frequent headaches, insomnia, difficulty concentratingforgetfulnessstomach pain, obsessive or compulsive behaviorconstipation, even can lead suicides and violence. These are some of the results of Grant Thornton's 2005 International Business Owners Survey (IBOS). Research with more than 6,000 business owners in 24 countries shows that stress levels had rocketed by more than a third. Also we can know top of the stress table are business owners in Taiwan where a staggering 69 per cent said their stress levels had increased in just one year. They were followed by entrepreneurs in Hong Kong (54%), Turkey (54%), Mexico (54%), India (53%), the Philippines (53%), Japan (51%), Russia (51%) and South Africa (50%). According to these results, people can know stress is a big problem. What are the causes of stress in today’s urban society? Finances, personal relationships, work and death are the main various causes of stress in today’s urban society.

Financial problem is one of the most negative personal stresses. Most studies agree that finances are a leading cause of stress. Money is more and more important in today’s urban society. If people don’t have money, they might not be able to get the things they want. Thus, everybody always thinks about money is the most important, also tries their best to be rich. In contrast, some people are facing the financial problems such as a home or car. Others are stressed by a loss of income, or mounting credit card debt. While college students stress over paying for an education, Baby Boomers and older senior citizens find that retirement income can be a major cause of stress. Today, in United States, according to government statistics, more than one million Americans filed for bankruptcy in 2006. Worrying too much about their finances is the main cause of chronic stress which caused 25% of total population of Americans to be absent from work.

“Personal relationships problems are another type of stress we all experience from time to time.” Personal relations, including divorce, lost contact with the love, argue with their children. That when people feel anxious, cannot concentrate on one thing. People also worry that the idea of a stranger on themselves. Students do not worry too much about family relationships, but they will worry about friends, especially when they were ignored by friends.

“Closely tied to finances as a cause of stress is work. Our jobs or careers seem to cause constant stress. In the LifeCare poll, 21 percent of those responding listed this as the leading cause of stress in life.” How is the workplace a cause of stress? We worry about getting and keeping adequate employment. We worry about new types of work or new responsibilities. We struggle to climb a career ladder, overwhelmed by the demands. Work conditions may change, or we may have interpersonal trouble at work. Students, especially teenagers and college age students, cite school work as a cause of stress. Sometimes, work stress is brought on by others. Sometimes, we bring it on ourselves.

Probably the most wrenching cause of stress is the death of a loved one or close friend. Even the death of a pet can be very stressful. Example of a life, one of my classmates raised a dog for seven years, when that dog died, she was three days without eating anything. Death is very painful for people, is also a very stressful.

Finances, personal relationships, work and death are the causes of stress in today’s urban living. Although life can cause a lot of problem, life without stress is like car without an engine. Sometimes stresses can force people to do the things better.  But, sometimes stresses make people’s lives overloaded. It is better reduced

How does an individual’s definition of ‘needs’ and ‘wants’ influence his/her notion of success?

To become a successful person, there are a lot of ways to achieve their goals. The successful person must be aware of consequences they want to achieve success, one might have to must give up something; the results can be seen at the final destination. Success requires understanding of the definition of "need" and "want". Every individual have their own ‘needs’ and ‘wants’ in their life. Take an example of William Henry Gates, he is the chairman of Microsoft. He is the world's richest between 1995 and 2007. He and his wife, has donated $ 3.46 billion to establish a foundation to support charities in global health and education sectors. He set up his own Foundation to help others, the name of the Foundation is named by using he and his wife's name. In many cases, people need to live in what does not and cannot live without according to their different needs and wants. There are two types of long-term successful people such as the materialistic and contributor.

Materiality is very important for everyone; people cannot leave them, such as food, clothing and water. For examples, being employment does not mean only as safety needs but also monthly incomesit proved whether your life is good or bad. If people income is high, may be after a few years they will be able to have their own house, do not need to go to rent an apartment any more. If people have money, they can go start their own businesses. Have their business can give the person wealth and success. For next generation, it is very important to have wealth and then use the appropriate method of education, the future generations will be better than we do. Also, in life, people need water and food to replenish their energy, so that they can work better. For example, Bill Gates was born in the Seattle, his father is well-known local lawyer and his mother was the director of the banking system and his grandfather was the governor of the National Bank. He is the chairman of Microsoft, by his own efforts to become the world's richest for the 1995 – 2007. In Seattle, he has an area of about 6600 square meters of mansions. These are his efforts to get the material success.

Contributor, they help others who need help. They create a better world for other people. They use their own way to help others. By helping others, they feel success. For example, some people want to become a psychiatrist, because they want to go to help those who need help from the psychological. Some people help others from life, they help those old people sweeping, washing clothes, cooking and when they are free, they will go to accompany those old people who living alone, to sing for them and have a walk with them. However, it is not enough; today people need more material things. Take an example of Bill Gates,
Bill Gates officially retired in June 2008, the property of Gates's $ 58 billion, he announced it will come up with 98% to Bill and Melinda Foundation, the money for the study of HIV and malaria vaccines, and the world's poorest countries to provide assistance and Gates Foundation, donated $ 1.3 million to the Chinese Ministry of Health, when the badly earthquake happened in Sichuan, China. The contribution will be used to support the Ministry of Health water security controls on the earthquake-stricken areas and disease control.

Different people have different “needs” and “wants” that is required in order for them to feel that they are successful in their life. It is all depend on the materialistic and contributor of an individual.
